What Hayk does in this program
Hayk runs the junior and beginner side of Markos Tennis. Children from five, juniors building their first real technique, and adults who are starting from absolute zero — those are his sessions, not the ones he takes when nothing else is on the schedule.
That distinction matters more than most parents realise. Coaching a seven-year-old is a completely different skill from coaching a competitive adult, and a lot of coaches are quietly bad at it. Keeping a child engaged for a full hour while still teaching a correct grip, a proper contact point and a service motion that will not need rebuilding later is genuinely hard, and it is what he is here for.
How he coaches
Patiently, and with a lot of energy. Sessions for young children are built around games with a technical point hidden inside them, so the hour feels like playing rather than being corrected. Children rally early, succeed often, and leave wanting to come back — which is the single strongest predictor of whether a child is still playing tennis in three years.
Underneath the fun, the fundamentals are taken seriously. Grip, balance, contact point, footwork and a real serve motion get built properly from the start, because the alternative is an eleven-year-old who has to unlearn everything before they can compete.
With adult beginners the approach is the same in spirit and different in delivery: clear explanations, few instructions at once, and enough live rallying early on that it feels like tennis instead of a lesson.

What Hayk costs
A one-hour private lesson is $100. Training two or more times a week brings that to $90 a session under the weekly package. Junior and beginner groups of three to four players are $55 per player. Court arranged, no membership required, no booking fee.

Questions parents ask about Hayk
What ages does Hayk coach?
From five years old upwards, plus adult beginners of any age. Children under about fourteen and anyone starting from zero are exactly what he does.
My child has never held a racket. Where do you start?
With a shorter racket, a low-compression ball and a court scaled to their size, so they are rallying inside the first session rather than missing for an hour. Nothing needs to be bought in advance — we bring a racket in the right size.
Why is Hayk $100 and Markos $120?
Not because the coaching is different — both take every level and cover the same ground in a lesson. Markos is at $120 as head coach and founder, with international competitive experience behind him, and he is also the one who takes hitting-partner sessions. Book whichever of them suits your week; you are not getting a lesser hour at $100.
When would my child move to Markos?
When they start asking about tournaments, a school team, or beating someone specific. That is the point where coaching needs to shift from building strokes to winning points. We will tell you when that moment arrives — and when it has not yet.
Does Hayk coach adults?
Adult beginners, yes — and it is a genuinely good fit. Patient coaching matters as much for a forty-five-year-old who has never played as it does for a seven-year-old. Adults at intermediate level and above are better booked with Markos.
